My educational background consists of an undergraduate degree from Tufts University, two master’s degrees (the most recent from Boston College in counseling psychology), and the anticipated completion of my doctoral degree in counseling and sports psychology from Boston University. These degrees are not intended to impress, rather, they have been necessary steps to earning the credentials required to improve people’s performance in a variety of settings. I hold licensure as a mental health counselor in Massachusetts (LMHC), as a strength and conditioning coach from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS), and maintain membership in a variety of professional organizations, including the Association of Applied Sports Psychology (AASP), American Counseling Association (ACA), American Psychological Association (APA), and the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA).
My only purpose for such diverse involvement and experience has been to develop the highest understanding of human performance so that I can assist people in setting and achieving their goals. My experience as an athlete and coach (football and track & field) at the high school and collegiate levels continues to serve as the foundation for understanding the physical and mental demands of athletes. My experience as a therapist provides the foundation for understanding the wide array of personal challenges that may present at any point in life. And my experience in higher education (Boston University sports psychology lab and adjunct faculty member) allows me to utilize the most current research in promoting higher performance.
MBX Training stands for “Mind Body Cross-Training”, and it describes exactly what we do. We combine the most current research in physical and mental development into one comprehensive training program. Our staff has been trained to deliver the highest levels of service, and we pride ourselves on meeting your specific training needs. Whether your goals are to improve your life, become a better athlete, or even enhance your productivity at work, our programs are designed to give you the most unique and genuine support in becoming the person you want to be.
Long story short… MBX Training is an innovative and dynamic training ground for assisting you in your pursuit and attainment of performance excellence.
